In the afternoon of June 12, Deputy Chairman of HCMC Peoples’ Committee Chan Vinh Tuyen chaired a working session with International Financial Corporation (IFC) led by Mr. Kele Kelhofer – IFC Senior country manager for Cambodia, Lao DPR and Vietnam.
At the meeting, Mr. Tuyen thanked IFC for giving financial support and technical consultancy to Vietnam as well as helping mobilize foreign resources, especally private resources.
He highly appreciated MOU signed between IFC and HCMC People’s Committee on 2017 which promotes implementation of cooperation contents. He commented that the city is now in need of IFC’s support in term of technology, finance, supporting HCMC to do research through practical projects of building smart city, green projects, waterwaste treatment, sustainable development, etc. as well as introducing experienced investors to HCMC.
For his part, Mr. Kyle Kelhofer thanked the city’s leaders for supporting IFC in the past time, especially implementing MOU between IFC and HCMC. Regarding to the process of building smart city, Mr. Kyle Kelhofer said IFC has rich experience in this field, affirming IFC is willing to support HCMC in terms of human resource, finance, technology to build smart city, green projects and common data system, etc.
