Total revenue of HCMC Tourism (tour operator, restaurant, hotel) is estimated at VND 94,600 billion, up 10% compared to 2014.
According to HCMC People’s Committee, HCMC received 4, 7 millions of international visitors in 2015, up 7% compared to 2014, achieving 100% of the plan, 19, 3 millions of local tourists visiting HCMC in 2015, up 13% compared to 2014.
With above results, HCMC has continuously affirmed its position as a leading tourism center of the whole country, making positive contributions to the economic restructuring of HCMC.
In 2015, HCMC has completed and put into operation two special projects including Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street and Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe inner waterway tourism route. These projects have attracted a large number of domestic and international visitors.
In 2016, HCMC aims to attract 5, 1 million international visitors and 21, 8 domestic visitors.
In order to achieve the above target, HCMC People’s Committee has strengthened its tourism promotion programs, expanding co-operation and calling for investment, training a high quality human resource, creating favorable conditions for attracting tourism development and investment.
In addition, HCMC will strengthen information propaganda by expanding its network of electronic information, organizing brand events to boost tourism. At the same time, HCMC will adjust its planning to attract investment in shopping centers, high quality cultural and fine arts centers to attract tourists.
