According to a report, Prof.Ph.D. Nguyen Tan Binh, Director of HCM Department of Health, the city has 47 private hospitals and 196 clinics, 21 general clinics with foreign elements.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien highly appreciated the city’s efforts in managing private clinics, especially building criteria of quality of private clinics which is not done by Ministry of Health. Mrs. Tien suggested the city to provide guidance to People’s Committees of Districts on management of private clinics, requesting HCMC Department of Health to advise and provide legal knowledge to local people.

Mrs. Tien suggested to indefinitely stopping operation of private clinics with violations till these clinics ensure safety for local people.
