“With available strengths of automotive, chemical and mechanical engineering, etc. from Belarus, HCMC hopes to have specific cooperation programs with Belarus”.
Expressed by Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong at the meeting with new Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam Vladimir A.Goshin dated October 6 at HCMC’s headquarter.
At the meeting, Mr. Phong said as role of economic locomotive of the whole country, HCMC is paying special attention to cooperation with localities of Belarus. The city is now focusing on developing 4 key industries including food processing, chemical-rubber, mechanical engineering and electronics, information technology. These help creates jobs for local laborers. With available strengths of Belarus, Mr. Phong expressed his hope to work out specific cooperation programs with Belarus.
For his part, Mr. Vladimir A.Goshin stressed that the political relations between Vietnam and Belarus has been well-established by high-profile visits of both sides’ leaders. Besides, Mr. Vladimir A.Goshin added the economic relations between both countries are not matched with available potential, two way trade between Vietnam and Belarus in 2015 was only US$ 100 million.
Mr. Vladimir A.Goshin expressed his hope to cooperate with HCMC in fields that the city is facing and calling for investment.
