In the afternoon of March 16, HCMC People’s Committee organized an online conference to put in place a plan piloting the “smart city” in the period of 2017-2020 and vision to 2025.
According to a report, the project of building “smart urban area” of HCMC will focus on 04 pillars: center used for simulation to forecast socio-economic strategty, center of information security, center shared database and open database eco-system and joint-operating center. Of which, joint-operating center is in charge of generating information, data connecting with databases of relevant sectors and authorities of the city at all levels to provide detailed information related to operation, planning and development directions of the city.
Addressing at the conference, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Chan Vinh Tuyen required all districts, wards of the city to work out plans and roadmap depending on their own conditions. In addition, these units need to quickly review the “bottlenecks” preventing application of technology into dealing with existing problems.
Regarding to construction of centers, Mr. Tuyen requested related units, under bidding regulations, must ensure impartiality and fairness of choosing qualified investors to satisfiy the requirements of the city.
