(HCM CityWeb)- April 19, leaders of HCMC held a get together with representatives of ethnic groups and religious dignitaries on the occasion of 40 years of liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification. Mr. Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee and Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan attended.
At the meeting, leaders of HCMC highly appreciated contributions of ethnic groups, religious dignitaries for the liberation and development of HCMC in the last 40 years, stressing that HCMC’s leaders always respect and recognize important contributions of ethnic groups and religious dignitaries, saying that HCMC will always create favorable conditions for ethnic groups and religions to operate contribute to HCMC.
Representative of dignitaries said that in the last 40 years, HCMC always create favorable conditions for religious dignitaries to operate. Year by year, ethnic minority people and religious dignitaries raised hundred of billions for social, humanity and charity activities of HCMC.
Speaking at the get together, Mr. Le Thanh Hai affirmed that the Party, authorities and people of HCMC maintained a consistent path and conducted thoroughly idea of Uncle Ho “With solidarity of people and religion, unity of the whole nation, our people will certainly win”, saying that HCMC has been making efforts in implementing the path, policies on national and religious affairs, national and religious unity in the national unity bloc; all ethnic groups of Vietnamese family are equal, united and respectful, helping together to maintain independence and national unification.
He expressed his belief that the ethnic minority and religious communities would promote the spirit of solidarity and join hands in national and local emulation drives and socio-economic and humanitarian activities, contributing to building a modern and civilized city.
Mr. Hai believed that in the coming time, ethnic minority people, religious dignitaries will promote the spirit of solidarity, joining hands with people of HCMC and of the whole country in national and local emulation movements, social and humanity activities, positively participating into socio-economic, cultural development programs, bringing into play strength of national unity bloc contributing to the development of a modern, civilized city.
