On December 21, Secretary of HCMC Party Committeee Dinh La Thang received a high profile delegation of the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia led by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen. Attending the meeting includes Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong together with leaders of departments and agencies.

At the reception, Mr. Dinh La Thang expressed his delight at receiving Mr.  Samdech Techo Hun Sen  and the accompanied delegation to the city. Mentioning about the well-developed cooperation relation between Vietnam and Cambodia, Mr. Dinh La Thang affirmed both sides have maintained good traditional neighbor & friendship relations, bringing practical benefits to peoples of both countries. He expressed his belief that the visit of Mr. Samdech Techo Hun Sen is a clear evidence for the good neighbor and friendship relations between both countries and opens more cooperation opportunities in the coming time.

Mr. Thang stressed that HCMC always respect, preserve and do its best to continuously foster the good relations between Vietnam and Cambodia including between HCMC and localities of Cambodia, especially between HCMC with Phnom Penh. Cho Ray-Phnom Penh Hospital project is a vital evidence of this good cooperation relation.

Briefing about cooperation between HCMC and localities of Cambodia, Mr. Thang said economic-trade-education exchange activities between both sides have achieved positive results. He expressed his hope that the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Cambodian Prime Minister will continue creating more favorable conditions for Vietnam, including HCMC to promote economic-trade-education-cultural-tourism activities to further deepen relations between HCMC with localities of Cambodia in particular and of both countries in general.

For his part, Mr. Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked HCMC’s leaders for warmly welcoming with sincere sentiment. He also expressed his sincere thanks to the Party, State and People of Vietnam for giving precious support and assistance to the Government and People of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the past time as well as in the process of construction and development of Cambodia.

Mr. Samdech Techo Hun Sen added the visit to Vietnam aims to further promote traditional friendship and solidarity relations and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, saying this relation will be more tightened and deepened in the coming time.

Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated Vietnam and HCMC on the important achievements achieved in the past years. He affirmed that despite continuous changes of world situations, Vietnam-Cambodia relations will remain firm. He expressed his hope to continuously reinforce and develop Vietnam-Cambodia traditional solidarity, friendship relations in the future.
