On February 3, HCMC People’s Committee incorporated with Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company to hold the groundbreaking ceremony of construction of Thu Thiem 2 bridge under form of BT (build-transfer). Attending the ceremony include Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Le Thanh Hai, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, Vice Permanent Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Vo Van Thuong, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan, Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Tin and leaders of central ministries and departments.

Mr. Tran Ba Duong, General Director of Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company – the project’s investor – said that after being approved by HCMC, the company has signed a contract with WSP company (Poland) to proceed the basic design and being verified by Ministry of Transport.

Thu Thiem 2 bridge has six lances, total length of 1,456 m, this is a cable stayed bridge with 113 meter-tall tower leaning toward Thu Thiem (District 2). The bridge is symbol of main entrance from HCMC’s center to Thu Thiem new urban area. With unique lighting design, Thu Thiem 2 bridge will be a prominent architectural landmark on Saigon River in both day and night..

Total investment capital of Thu Thiem 2 bridge is VND 3,082.5 billion, expected to be completed and put into operation in April 30, 2018. It may be completed sooner if Ba Son Corporation hands over land for construction sooner.
