On February 20, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen worked with leaders of HCMC Department of Information and Communications on implementation plan of its tasks in 2017
In 2017, HCMC Department of Information and Communications will focus on implementing 07 breakthrough programs of the city with key programs such as improvement of growth quality and economic competitiveness; administrative reform; application of IT in urgent sectors associated with 07 breakthrough programs; effective implementation of business support measures; support businesses to apply IT to create breakthrough strengths in management and enhance labor productivity.
The department has been developing IT, Internet and Communications services which a focus on important tasks: implementing semi-conductor industrial development program in 2013-2020 in the direction of cooperating, attracting participation of businesses into research and production; promoting investment attraction, enhancing quality and efficiency of projects in Quang Trung Software Park; giving support to IT service enterprises to apply quality management processes in accordance with international standards; reviewing and improving quality of infrastructure renovation of communications enterprises; building common infrastructure for network providers; linking information infrastructure development with planning and building urban aesthetics and environmental protection, etc.
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen suggested HCMC Department of Information and Communications to proactively advise the city to implement smart city scheme; coordinating with related departments and agencies to quickly complete the scheme and report to HCMC People’s Committee. In addition, he requested HCMC Department of Information and Communications to build a common data center for the city connect IT enterprises to find new markets and support startup businesses, well implement State management on media, publication and Internet information.
