As a report of HCMC Department of Planning and Investment, Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) of HCMC was reduced 2 places from 6 to 8 in 2016 but with scores increased by 0, 36 points (from 61, 36 to 61, 72).

At the meeting, Department of Planning and Investment proposed some solutions to enhance the city’s PCI rankings including enhancing component indexes with lower scores in 2016. Accordingly, related departments-agencies, People’s Committees of Districts need to make public legal documents and planning of the city and localities to help enterprises access easily; making public process of solving administrative procedures including time, costs, dossiers, samples as detailed as possible, frequently organizing dialogues with businesses to timely remove difficulties for them. In his conclusion, Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen affirmed that the city’s authorities will focus on carrying out solutions to enhance the city’s PCI.

He requested related organs to strengthen contacts, dialogues with businesses to listen and timely remove difficulties for them; promoting online public services; reducing direct contact with local people and enterprises, preventing harassments, reducing travel time for citizens and businesses.
