HCMC tightens budget spending management

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has instructed in writing related agencies to minimize spending on projects and works unless necessary, part of measures to fulfill socioeconomic and budget revenue norms this year.
The agencies are instructed to minimize expenses for festivals, anniversaries, groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies, and conferences and seminars without practical contents.
On the other hand, they should not propose supplementation of projects and programs, issue of new polices or norm raise to prevent expenditure from going up while there have no ensured financial sources.
The committee has also asked the agencies to drastically perform revenue management, exploitation and nurture, combat against revenue losses and tackle tax debts.
