On February 23, at Gia Dinh Temple, Phu Hiep Hamlet, Phu My Hung Commune, Cu Chi District, HCMC Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee-Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC hosted a traditional get together on Revolution of Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh.
Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Le Thanh Hai has recalled glorious revolutionary traditions of people and the Party after 85 springs with significant contributions of people of Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh. Together with the whole country and Southern Vietnam “The Bulwark of the Motherland”, Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh – HCMC has undergone an unyielding historical struggle journey to the glorious victory, contributing to the liberation of Southern Vietnam and national reunification, constructing and protecting Vietnam Fatherland.
Inheriting and promoting glorious revolutionary tradition of Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh, the Party, authority and people of HCMC in the past years have uphold these traditions, striving for constructing, protecting and development of a civilized, modern city for the whole country, etc. HCMC has gained many significant achievements in all aspects, remaining political stability; socio-economic, cultural development; taking care and improving people’s lives; strengthening national defense, security and external affairs, constructing a clean and strong Party and political system. HCMC always maintains a center position in many aspects, a leading economy that contributes to the development of Southern key economic zone and of the whole country.
Speaking at the meeting, former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai said that a traditional get together hosted on this sacred land aims to recall, honor and express gratitude to comrades, soldiers who sacrificed for the country. It is also an occasion to remind young generations of patriotism of generations of fallen fathers, an opportunity for reviewing history and understanding history to nourish the loves for the motherland.
