As a report of HCMC Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the department strives to turn the city’s agriculture into a modern – effective-sustainable urban agriculture in 2017 toward hi-tech agriculture, bio-technology, building HCMC into plant seed and livestock production center with high productivity, good quality, safety to meet demands of clean vegetables, fresh flowers, ornamental fish, milk attached with tourism development.

At the meeting, delegates suggested that HCMC Department of Agriculture and Rural Development needs to strengthen the agricultural restructuring program attached with new rural development; transferring its structure of plants and animals; developing hi-tech agriculture and applying bio-technology into production; continuously improving investment and business environment; attracting investment into agricultural and rural development; implementing social policies on reducing poverty, improving living standards for local people, enhancing quality of food safety and hygiene; actively coping with climate change, natural disasters; strengthening management of natural resources and environmental protection; building a synchronous infrastructure system for agricultural and rural development.
