On October 4, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Chairman Le Van Khoa and related organs inspected the anti-flooding project due to high tide and climate change.
The project has a total investment capital of VND 10,000 billion under form of BT in a period of 30 months (2016-2018). The project aims to control flood due to high tide and to adapt to climate change in an area of 570km² with a population of 6, 5 million people, to actively regulate water level in canals, improve water drainage system and store rainwater in low tide, prevent land erosion at riverbank.
According to Mr. Le Van Khoa, anti-flooding is a big program of the city, he requested the project’s investors to be aware of their responsibilities for the project’s progress and quality, ensuring labor safety at the construction site, coordinating with departments, sectors, districts to solve any difficulty.
Mr. Le Thanh Phong in his speech highly valued efforts of investors in implementing the project. To ensure the project’s progress, he requested departments, sectors, districts to focus on creating the best conditions for investors to carry out the project.
