On May 10, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan and Governor of Moscow Andrey Vorobiev signed a co-operation agreement on trade, science-technology and culture. The signing is witnessed by President Truong Tan Sang and leaders of Ministries, Departments of HCMC and Moscow.

According to HCMC Department of External Relations, the deal is signed in the framework of agreements that Vietnam and Russia concluded since 2000. In the context of continuously developed comprehensive strategic partnerships between Vietnam and Russia, the establishment of HCMC-Moscow co-operation relations is matched with desires of leaders of both Vietnam and Russia.
According to the deal, HCMC and Moscow will conduct frequent high profile exchanges, share information and experiences, management lessons which are suitable with conditions of each side. These will be premise for co-operation between businesses and partners of both sides in fields of light industry, economy-trade, science-technology and culture, deepening co-operation relations between Vietnam and Russia in general and of HCMC and Moscow in particular.
On May 8, at headquarter of Moscow authority, Mr. Le Hoang Quan had a meeting with Mr. Andrey Vorobiev. Mr. Quan stressed that HCMC always welcome businesses and investors from Moscow to promote co-operation with HCMC, he proposed that authority of Moscow create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses, especially those from HCMC, to invest in Moscow in field of light industry.
Mr. Andrey Vorobiev welcomed the visit of HCMC’s delegation, expressing his belief that after the signing, co-operation relations between HCMC and Moscow will be more developed and achieved practical results in many fields of mutual interests.
Mr. Quan and Mr. Andrey agreed to assigns concerned agencies of both sides to implement the content of the deal.
