On August 10, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mr. Kazuyuki Nakane, Japanese Standing Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At the reception, Mr. Phong highly appreciated the important contributions of Japan to the city’s economic development, saying Japan is one of the most important partners of the city in fields of economy, investment, education.
"HCMC highly appreciates infrastructure development projects funded by Japan in the city”, said Mr. Phong
For his part, Mr. Kazuyuki Nakane made his commitment to continue cooperating with HCMC, sharing knowledge, experience and technology to further accelerate the city’s socio-economic development.
“Any specific projects suggested by HCMC, we will consider to support at our best”, said Mr. Nakane. Regarding to FTAs that Vietnam and Japan are signatures, Mr. Nakane said Japan is expected CPTPP and RCEP soon to come into effect.
Chairman Phong also expressed his belief that Japan will continue supporting Vietnam and HCMC to carry out key infrastructure projects, giving more support to HCMC in fields of training, urban management, climate change adaptation.
