On October 27, Permanent Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem received Mr. Tsutomu Takebe – special advisor of Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, former Japanese Minister of Agriculture-Forestry-Fisheries and Head of Organizing Board of Vietnam-Japan Festival 2016.
At the reception, Mr. Tsutomu Takebe said Vietnam-Japan Festival 2016 themed “Joining hands” will take place from November 18-20 in HCMC. The festival is an important cultural event with larger scale than that of previous year with diversified activities such as culture exchange, traditional performances (long dress, ethnic musical instruments) cuisine, etc.
The festival also includes trade promotion booths, agricultural forum to strengthen cooperation relation between HCMC and Japan. This event aims to promote and develop tourism cooperation between HCMC and Japan in particular and Japan and Vietnam in general.
Mr. Le Thanh Liem said the city has assigned relevant departments and agencies to ensure the success of the festival. Preparation work is now on schedule and ready for the opening ceremony.
