At the reception, Mr. Le Thanh Liem welcomed German Foreign Minister Franck-Walter Steinmeier to Vietnam, saying that the visit will further promote the well-developed cooperation relation between Vietnam and Germany in the context of 5th anniversary of establishment of Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership.

At local level, Mr. Liem stressed that Germany is one of the important economic partners of HCMC in fields of investment, trade. He expressed his hope that Germany would further promote cooperation relation with Vietnam in general and with HCMC in general in the coming time, especially in fields of of both sides’ strengths.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed his impression on the development of HCMC, saying that the delegation is accompanied by many German companies which show their interest in seeking cooperation opportunities in Vietnam, including HCMC. He said that Vietnam-Germany cooperation relation has been positively developed but still not matched with both countries’ potential. He affirmed that Germany Government hopes to strengthen a comprehensive cooperation relation with Vietnam in the future.
