In the afternoon of August 29, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Huynh Cach Mang made a visit to American Center HCMC to pay tribute to Sen. John McCain who passed away in the USA.
On behalf of leaders and people of HCMC, Mr. Huynh Cach Mang sent his condolences to the Government, Congress of USA and family of Sen. John McCain. Writing in the funeral book, Mr. Mang highly respect contributions of Sen. John McCain to the well-development Vietnam-US relation in many years.
US Consul General in HCMC Mary Tarnowka thanked and highly appreciated the affection and respect of HCMC to Sen. John McCain. She said the US has decided to provide scholarships under the name of Sen. John McCain to Vietnamese individuals who make good performances in social activities. This aims to honor Sen. John McCain and to preserve his heritages to Vietnam-US relations.
