On November 11, HCMC’s leaders met 20 Vietnamese Overseas representing for over 500 Vietnamese overseas from 36 countries and territories. They are experts, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, cultural and social activists coming to Vietnam on the occasion of the Conference of Vietnamese Overseas themed “Vietnam Overseas join hands for HCMC’s fast, sustainable development and global integration”.
In the solemn and warm atmosphere, Vietnamese overseas have discussed and shared their experiences with HCMC’s leaders in fields such as culture, society, transport, environment, climate change, green growth, education-training, university, human resource, science and technology, etc.
With the spirit of learning, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong highly valued ideas and suggestions contributed by Vietnamese overseas, expressed his delight at receiving Vietnamese Overseas in HCMC in such as significant event.
HCMC’s leaders always acknowledge and highly value contributions of Vietnamese overseas to the city’s development, the breakthrough solutions contributed by Vietnamese overseas have helped HCMC maintain its leading position in mobilizing resources from Vietnamese overseas, overseas national currency exchange, investment capital and attracting intellectuals and entrepreneurs to take part in research, teaching and entering into investment and production activities in HCMC.
Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong expressed his hope that Vietnamese Overseas will continue contributing their initiatives and solutions for the city’s development, contributing to the construction of HCMC an economic-commercial-scientific-technology center of Southeast Asia.
