HCMC’s leaders to meet Vietnamese Ambassador to UN

In the afternoon of June 25, Permanent Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem met Mr. Dang Dinh Quy, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador & Head of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.


At the meeting, Mr. Liem highly appreciated performances of Vietnamese Mission to the United Nations in New York (USA) which contributes to the implementation of multilateral diplomatic policy as well as positive integration of Vietnam into global economy.


Mr. Liem expressed his hope that as his post, Mr. Dang Dinh Quy will further prompote cooperation programs in fields of creative start-up between HCMC and USA including smart-city project, establishiment creative urban area (Districts 2, 9 and Thu Duc District), etc. to make HCMC a key player in the Industry 4.0 of Vietnam and the region. He added that based on these demands, there is a huge cooperation potential between HCMC and in fields of technoloyg, energy, education, human resource, trade, economy, etc.


In his talk, Mr. Liem announced that USA has now 400 investment projects in HCMC worth US$ 900 billion, ranked 10th out of 93 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Therefore, this is the right time for tightening cooperation relations between HCMC and USA. He also expressed his hope that Mr. Quy will act as a linking bridge for US investors and foreign experts to support the city.


For his part, Mr. Quy stressed that he always highly appreciates the city’s developments, saying that he is willing to support HCMC through deepening US-HCMC relations in various fields of economy, trade, investment, people to people diplomacy, education-training, student exchange, etc.
