On December 9, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentary Alliance on his working visit to Vietnam.
At the reception, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu highly valued the sense of responsibility and cooperation efforts of HCMC’s departments and agencies in successfully organizing Vietnam-Japan Festival 2016. Mr. Takebe Tsutomu said the Vietnam-Japan Festival 2016 provided many cultural exchange programs, art & entertainment performances. The festival attracted 220,000 participants and made a good impression on Vietnamese public opinion. Vietnam-Japan Festival 2016 is also the world’s largest Japanese related festival in 2016
Mr. Takebe Tsutomu expressed his hopes that he will continue cooperating with HCMC to organize economic development cooperation programs as well as cultural – educational – tourism exchange programs and Vietnam-Japan festivals.
For his part, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated the sentiment and contributions of Mr. Takebe Tsutomu to the well-developed Vietnam-Japan cooperation relations. He expressed his hope that Mr. Takebe Tsutomu will continue playing the role of linking bridge between HCMC and Japan in general and between HCMC and localities of Japan in particular.
