At the meeting, Secretary Dinh La Thang said Vietnam-Lao PDR special friendship and traditional relations has been continuously developed, HCMC and Champasak province have effectively implemented many bilateral cooperation activities under the framework of cooperation agreements in 2016-2020 of both sides.

Secretary Thang affirmed the visit to HCMC took place at a significant time when Vietnam and Lao PDR celebrates 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations (Sep 5 1962 – Sep 5 2017) and 40th anniversary of the signing of Vietnam-Lao PDR Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18 1977-July 18 2017). Mr. Thang said HCMC will organize many activities to celebrate these special events, he expressed his hope that Mr. Bounthong Divixay, authorities and people of Champasak province cooperate with HCMC to carry out celebration activities.

Highly appreciated and thanked HCMC for giving support to Champasak’s development in the past time, Mr. Bounthong Divixay affirmed together with related departments and agencies, Champasak will closely follow contents of cooperation signed by both sides. He expressed his hope that HCMC will give more support and create favorable conditions for Champasak to study experience in agricultural development as well as for businesses of Champasak to seek investment and cooperation opportunities.
