On October 12, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Dinh La Thang, Deputy Secretary Tat Thanh Cang, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mayor of Daegu City (Korea) Kwon Young Jin.
At the reception, Mr. Kwon Young Jin thanked HCMC’s leaders for warm welcome and expressed his impression at the multi-faceted development speed of the city.
He said the establishment of representative office of Daegu city in HCMC shows Daegu’s attention to cooperation relation with HCMC. The office is a linking bridge for cooperation of both cities in the coming time. Mr. Kwon Young Jin expressed his hope to further strengthen cooperation with HCMC in fields of tourism, trade promotion, etc.
Mr. Kwon Young Jin expressed his hope that HCMC will support the establishment of Daegu bank branch in the city to support businesses from Daegu city to invest in Vietnam and HCMC. He said that both sides will soon launch the direct flight between HCMC and Daegu to further promote bilateral cooperation.
Mr. Dinh La Thang expressed his delight at receiving Mr. Kwon Young Jin after his visit to Korea in September, saying the both sides’ visit exchanges will help promote bilateral cooperation relation.
Mr. Thang added that HCMC with role of economic locomotive of the whole country is making its efforts in promoting multi-faceted development. The city is now making use of internal and external sources for sustainable development. In addition, the city is calling for foreign investors including those from Daegu city.
“HCMC is willing to create favorable conditions for investors from Daegu city to study and seek investment opportunities in the city”, Mr. Thang affirmed.
Regarding to the establishment of Daegu bank branch in HCMC, Mr. Thang affirmed his support, saying he will report to the Prime Minister for consideration. Mr. Thang also highly appreciates the ideas of establishing direct flight between HCMC and Daegu.
