At the reception, Secretary Dinh La Thang on behalf of Party, authorities and people of HCMC warmly welcomed the high-profile delegation of National Assembly of Lao PDR led by Chairman Pany Yathotou to HCMC. The visit took place at a significant time when both countries are preparing for celebration of 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 40th anniversary of signing of Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Dinh La Thang affirmed the city always pays attention to establishing cooperation relations with localities of Laos. The city has established twinning relationship with Vientiane capital and Champasak province as well as cooperation relations with other localities of Lao DPR. These relations have deeply tightened the Vietnam-Laos special friendship relation. He expressed his wish that Vietnam – Lao DPR traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation relation in general and between HCMC’s localities with localities of Lao DPR will be more developed in the future.
