The Ho Chi Minh City's leaders led by Deputy Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Vo Thi Dung visited and handed over gifts to the green summer campaign's volunteers in the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long yesterday.
Ms. Vo Thi Dung asked student volunteers from Transport University in HCMC whose are joining in green summer capaign at Nhon Phu commune of Mang Thit hoping that the volunteers should try overcoming difficulties to complete their task on schedule.
On behalf of HCMC's leaders, Ms. Vo Thi Dung praised the young volunteers for their contributions towards the general development of the community and sent thanks to local authorities and families in Mang Thit for supports to the volunteers during long month campaign.
During the 2016 Green Summer Campaign, Transport Univerity has 30 students to take part in the campaign. After over one month, the volunteers built over 2,500m rural roads and other transport works; offered gifts to poor families helping hundreds of local residents to travel safer on rural streets.
The delegation visited Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Nho in Long Ho district.
