In the morning of March 29, Chairman of HCMC Peorple’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong chaired a meeting session on economic-social-cultural - national defense situations, budget spending and revenue in Q.1, deploying new tasks in Q.2 2018.
As a report, the city’s economy continuew growing higher than that of the same period, with total GRDP in Q.1 of VND 260, 317 billion, up 7,64%. Of which, service increases by 7,98%, industry-construction increase by 7,25% and agriculture increases by 5,83%.
Proportion of 9 key service sectors take up the highest account of 55,1%, 3 of them including real estate, trade warehousing account for 30,4% of total GRDP.
In Q.1, industrial production index (IPI) is estimated at 6,05% higher than that of the same period. 04 key industries (mechanical manufacturing, electronics, chemical-rubber-plastic-refined food processing) increase by 6,79% as of the same period higher than the common growth rate of the whole sector.
To domestic investment, the city sees approximately 8,021 newly established businesses in Q.1, up 2,6% as of the same period with total registered capital of VND 100,399.54 billion. The city also attracts 181 newly established FDI projects with total investment capital of US$ 215.09 million.
