On May 14, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tat Thanh Cang received a delegation of Chinese Business Association led by Chairman Miao Ren Lai.
At the reception, Mr. Lai said that Chinese Business Association includes 460 members with a goal of supporting Chinese enterprises to seek investment opportunities.
The visit to aims to propose with HCMC to build some specialized trade centers for mechanical and agricultural machinery, construction and decoration material, footwear and textile, etc.
On purpose of meeting the demand of co-operation and economic development of HCMC and China, Mr. Lai noted shortage of skilled human resource, he proposed that Chinese Business Association will establish vocational training schools to build a technical human resource for production development.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Tat Thanh Cang briefly introduce about HCMC and its economic situation in the last year. He stressed that HCMC is ranked 4th in Provincial Competitiveness Index, the city is making efforts in improving quality of trade-service, giving priority to development of supporting industries, encouraging hi-tech science, reducing intensive labor industries and causes environment pollution, establishing types of high quality services
In the coming time, HCMC continues to construct technical infrastructure systems, strengthening administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for attracting investment. Mr. Cang affirmed that local authority will always accompany with Chinese businesses.
Regarding to proposals of Chinese Business Association, Mr. Cang hoped to have more information to strengthen trade co-operation between HCMC and China. Any proposal out of authority of HCMC, the city will submit to relevant Ministries, agencies to create favorable conditions for Chinese businesses to invest in HCMC.
