April 27, Vice Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong received a delegation of Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts led by Minister Phoeurng Sackona.
At the meeting, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong expressed her delight at the good relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as between HCMC and localities of Cambodia. In charge of trade activities of HCMC, Mrs. Hong said that she paid many business trips to Cambodia, each trip saw big and positive changes of Cambodia.
According to Mrs. Hong, HCMC has organized many exhibitions in Cambodia to promote trade and investment, creating opportunities for Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses to exchange co-operation opportunities. Every year, HCMC hosts International Tourism Exhibition which attracted participation of 3 countries (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia) at initial time, but then attracted participation of Thailand and Myanmar. In the framework of the exhibition, Gala Dinner hosted by Cambodia attracted large participation of Vietnamese and foreigners to understand about culture, fine arts, cuisine, country and people of Cambodia. These activities have deeply strengthened Vietnam-Cambodia relations. With its role and position, HCMC will continue to launch more practical activities to contribute to the good relations between both countries, expressed by Mrs. Hong.
Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona also expressed his delight at the visit to HCMC at the time when Vietnam is celebrating the 40th anniversary of liberation of Southern Vietnam and national reunification and other big holidays. She noted that Vietnam has been making positive changes, Vietnam is a good brother of Cambodia. On behalf of people and Government of Cambodia, she conveyed thanks to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, especially HCMC, for their support for Cambodia in the past and at the present.
Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona highly appreciated the traditional and good friendship relation between both countries, saying the good friendship has promoted comprehensive co-operation relationship in many fields such as politics, economy, culture, society, tourism, health, etc. Every year, many Vietnamese travel to Cambodia, many Cambodian visit HCMC for medial diagnosis and treatment. Vietnam has recently helped Cambodia train human resource through providing hundreds of scholarships for Cambodian students. She expressed her belief that Vietnam will attain more achievements and continue to support Cambodia in the future.
