Ho Chi Minh City has raised over VND300 billion (US$13.9 million) for learning encouragement for 4 years.
More than 300 individuals and teams representing learning encouragement societies and studious families yesterday participated in a conference to review emulation movements and good exemplary commend for the period 2010-2014.
After four years since building Learning Society and setting up the city's learning encouragement association, the city has 4,130 sub-association with 741,455 members; 473,505 families participating in the learning promotion movement; 70 family branches and 452 residential blocks registering the learning promotion movement.
The fund to promote learning has been raised to VND300 billion.
Learning encouragement sub-associations have been popularized in residential blocks, organizations, schools and unions in localities.
For its achievements in learning encouragement among people, the city’s Learning Encouragement Association has been granted three Third Labor Medals, Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merits of the Prime Minister.
