On November 11, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen chaired a meeting on commodity market for Lunar New Year Festival 2017.
Specifically, food projects and essential items for HCMC’s consumers mainly come from 3 sources: market stabilization programs (30% of market share), wholesale markets (vegetable, fruits, seafood, poultry meat, 60%-70% of market share), other units (10%-20% of market share).
Production enterprises have stored enough goods for 02 months ahead of Tet holiday worth VND 17,068.8 billion, up VND 860 billion compared to Binh Than Lunar New Year 2016, of which value of goods under market stabilization programs stays at VND 6, 851.6 billion. Prepared amount of goods increases by 15%-20% compared to the plan assigned by HCMC and up 24%-45% compared to Binh Than Lunar New Year 2016.
Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen requested HCMC Department of Industry and Trade to call and create favorable conditions for enterprises, cooperatives to supply clean agricultural products to distribution systems to offer more choices for consumers. In addition, enterprises need to expand mobile selling points, offer discounts for people in suburban areas, workers and students.
