On March 7, at Ben Thanh Theatre, (District 1, HCMC), HCMC Police Newspaper and HCMC Television (HTV) held a summing up ceremony of 3 years of “Shining in daily life” program. Attending the ceremony include Secretary of HMC Party Committee, Lieutenant General and Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam, Permanent Deputy Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam – Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Council.
In the last three years, “Shining in daily life” program has introduced 150 excellent citizens – good people doing good things. These are simple, compassionate and patriotic people who are always sharing with community, fighting against bad things. With their noble virtues, they have made silent contributions with deeply human significance to the construction of a civilized society and a more developed country. Amongst them, Mr. Phan Van Tan (Ward 3, District 11) has spent his 36 years on collecting garbage floating on canals, keeping environment clean and green. Another example of “good people doing good thing” is senior lieutenant Truong Tan Phuong under Phu Lam traffic police division, he has not only done a good job in handling traffic violations but also joined in arresting street money earned from selling fertilized duck eggs in 10 years on seeking lost remains of martyrs.
On behalf of HCMC’s leaders, Mr. Tat Thanh Cang praised and expressed his appreciation to 150 excellent citizens, highly valued their silent and significant sacrifices. Mr. Cang suggested that districts in HCMC need to pay more attention, to coordinate with the organizers of “Shining in daily life” program to introduce more examples of excellent citizens in the coming time.
