On May 25, at Yangon City (Myanmar), a delegation of trade-investment-tourism promotion and Vietnam – Myanmar business connectivity led by Vice Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee headed paid a visit to Governor and Mayor of Yangon city.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong thanked leaders of Yangon City for creating favorable conditions for trade promotion activities of Vietnam and HCMC in Myanmar. HCMC has so far conducted 06 market surveys in Myanmar and organized 05 exhibitions on Vietnam-Myanmar Trade-Service-Tourism (HCMC Expo 2015).
Mrs. Hong suggested to provide 05 university scholarships for students of Myanmar studying in universities in HCMC and to fund a lighting project in Yangon City with total value of US$ 15,000.
Governor of Yangon City thanked HCMC for its good will. The Governor also suggested Vietnam Embassy in Yangon City to be a linking bridge for collecting opinions and proposals of Vietnamese enterprises to be submitted to Yangon’s authority for consideration. At the same day, Vietnamese delegation paid a visit to Vietnam Embassy in Yangon city. Mr. Pham Thanh Dung received Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong and the delegation. Vietnam Embassy in Myanmar agreed to be a linking bridge for enterprises of Vietnam and HCMC to further develop Myanmar market. The delegation burned incense to commemorate Uncle HO at tradition room of Vietnam Embassy in Myanmar.
