On January 15, HCMC’s Management Board of Urban Railway summarized 2014 year end results and implementing assignments in 2015.
In the directions of operation in 2015, HCMC’s Management Board of Urban Railway will accelerate construction of approved projects, completing preparation works for the rest of Metro routes, attracting investment capitals for construction of Metro routes.
For Metro line No.1 (Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien), 1a bidding package (constructing underground section from Ben Thanh bus station to Saigon Opera House), Ministry of Transport is reviewing technical design and will choose contractors, it is expected to approve at the end of 2015. For 1b bidding package (constructing underground section from Saigon Opera House to Ba Son bus station), construction of the roof of Saigon Opera House’s bus station is under construction and scheduled for completion on February to coordinate synchronously with a project of upgrading and improving Nguyen Hue street before April 30, 2015.
For the bidding package No2 ( constructing a section above the ground and depot with 17,1km long from Ba Son to Binh Duong province) expected to complete technical design and infrastructure of 8 bus stations. HCMC’s Management Board of Urban Railway will organize construction of 02 underground cable routes 110kv supplying power for operation of Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro route.
For Metro line No2 (Ben Thanh-Tham Luong), HCMC’s Management Board of Urban Railway will continue to carry out preparations and project adjustment, opening for bidding and pushing land clearance and moving technical infrastructure.
Apart from 02 key Metro lines, in the coming time, HCMC’s Management Board of Urban Railway will complete preparations for investment of Metro line No 5, Phase 1 (Bay Hien intersection-Saigon bridge) including design project, support for resettlement and land clearance, negotiating with sponsors, banks borrow money for Phase 2 (Bay Hien intersection – Can Giuoc new bus station).
