On February 8, Ministry of Transport organized the launching ceremony of HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway at Xuan Thanh Commune, Thong Nhat District, Dong Nai province. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and leaders of Central Ministries and Department, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan together with local authorities attended the ceremony.

HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway connects HCMC with National Road 51, Long Thanh District with National Road 1A crossing HCMC and Dong Nai, with total length of 55km.

Addressing at the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway is very significant for socio-economic development, resolving employment, improving people’s lives, ensuring national defense of the region and of the whole country.

On behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung extended sincere thanks to international organizations, the Government and peoples, especially to Asian Development Bank (ADB), Government and people of Japan for granting preferential capital for Vietnam to develop infrastructure. Mr. Dung said that Vietnam hoped for continued support from partners in the coming time and committed to effective use of domestic and foreign loans for infrastructure development.
