HCMC lawmaker seeks $237,000 to equip Tumor Hospital’s satellite facility
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council has asked for VND5 billion (US$237,000) to instal facilities and equipment at a satellite facility of the Tumor Hospital that opened in District 2 last year despite not being fully equipped.
At a meeting between the People’s Council, Tumor Hospital chiefs, District 2 People’s Committee, and other agencies May 30, Huynh Cong Hung of the city legislature petitioned the Department of Finance to provide the money.
The 150-bed satellite was envisaged to ease pressure on the Tumor Hospital in Binh Thanh District. It has so far treated 60 inpatients transferred from the Tumor Hospital.
It was built at a cost of VND30 billion (US$1.4 million).
