HCMC launches “2015 traffic safety year” campaign

On January 20, HCMC Traffic Safety Board organized the launching ceremony of “2015 traffic safety year” campaign and peak season of Tet holidays”.


With a title of “Tightening management of transport trading activities and controlling transport means” and action slogan of “human life is above all”, the campaign aims to reduce traffic accidents from 5%-10% compared to 2014 on 3 criteria: number of accidents, number of deaths and number of injuries.

 Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuong, Deputy head of HCMC Traffic Safety Board said that for traffic safety in year end, the board has worked out a detailed plan, HCMC Departments of traffic police and of transport together with other organizations to participate to reduce traffic accidents. HCMC Traffic Safety Board will strengthen frequency of supervision to ensure traffic safety and to check alcohol rate of drivers.

 The launching ceremony aims to call for all offices, sectors, organizations, localities of HCMC to raise responsibility for abiding traffic safety law, to strengthen propaganda activities of traffic safety, to establish “traffic culture” in every citizen.

 From now to Tet holidays, HCMC will simultaneously start to ensure traffic safety in the area and apply strict punishments for drunk drivers.
