In the morning of March 27, at the area of President Ho Chi Minh Statue (Nguyen Hue Street, Distrit 1, HCMC), HCMC People’s Committee kicked off an emulation campaign on successfully carrying out the tasks of socio-economic development in 2018 and celebrating the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation.

Chairman of HCM People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said response to the President Ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation, the Party, authorities and people of HCMC, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee-HCMC, have uphold the spririt of patriotism, the spririt of “for the whole country, together with the country”, solidarity, dynamisms, creativity to overcome difficulties and challenges. Many emulation programs organized by the city have become the city’s bright spots and important driving forces for the process of struggle for national independence, construction, protection and development of the city.

Mr. Phong suggested that it is important to implement the Party’s guidances and policies, the State’s regulations in the coming time; building the Party in clean and strong manner; promoting the strength of the whole people; attaching emulation programs with studying and following the President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. He added that emulation programs must have specific themes, easy to remember with practical content. It is also necessary to organize emulation progams which focus on effectively dealing with contraints of people regarding to issues of flooding, traffic congestion, environmental pollution, hospital overload, etc. These will help improve living qualilty of local people.
