On April 13, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thu worked with Steering Committee for Poverty Reduction and Increase of Better-off Households on draft contents of HCMC’s sustainable poverty reduction program in 2016-2020.
The program aims to reduce rate of poor households and near poverty households in accordance with new criteria of HCMC’s sustainable poverty reduction program in 2016-2020 at averaging 1%/year. The average income of poor household of HCMC in 2020 will increase 3-fold compared to 2011.
A survey has been conducted on 83% of total poor households, the city has updated information of survey forms into its management software and list of poor households and near poverty households
Mrs. Thu highly valued efforts of districts of the city in making a list of poor and near poverty households, she requested Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to receive and adjust the draft content for submitting to HCMC People’s Committee before May 15, 2016.
