On February 23, Secretary of HCMC Party Commitee Nguyen Thien Nhan chaired a meeting on implementation of Resolution 54/2017/QH14 of the National Assembly to pilot special mechanisms for HCMC development.
Attending the meeing were nearly 1,200 delegates including former leaders of the Party, State, retired high-live officials, former leaders of HCMC, leaders of relative departments and agencies and representatives of typical writers and artists, etc.
Addressing the Resolution 54 of the National Assembly, Mr. Nhan said the city – as one with largest population and fasted economic growth of the whole country – is facing many challenges (poor supply of infrastructure affecting sustainable development, reduced proporation of FDI, low birth rate, high number of drug addicts, largest contributor to the State’s budget, a 20% of budget revenue retained is not enough for re-investment and sustainable development, etc.). In order to deal with, the city needs special mechanisms for fast and sustainable development and the Resolution 54 will be a solution for the city to pursue fast, sustainable development as well as to contribute more to the country’s development.
