In the evening of March 16, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong recieved Mr. Fujita Yasuo, outoing Chief Represenative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam in a courtesy visit to the city
At the reception, Mr. Phong said the city highly appreciates Japanese Government’s ODA in the past times. He expressed his hope that JICA continues to provide more ODA for projects on anti-flooding and water treatment, research cooperation, technical support; projects on high quality water infrastructure systems, human resource training, improvement of management capability in fields of water drainage and waste water treatment, etc. Besides, the city wishes JICA to further exchange experience on planning and building large-scale water reservoirs in new residential areas.
For his part, Mr. Fujita Yasuo said it is necessary for the city to closely follow the reports of relative Ministries and Departments to adjust investment projects, to complete re-lending contracts between HCMC and Ministry of Finance, to ask for advance payment from the city’s budget to pay for contractors of Metro projects, to review and adjust mid-term 2016-2020 public invstment plans.
