According to reports of HCMC People’s Committee, till February 28, 2015, the home loan program in HCMC supported 2,726 customers, these customers signed credit agreements with commercial banks with total credit limit VND 2,168 billion, of whom 2,589 customers are of outstanding loans, accumulated loan reached VND 1,382 billion, outstanding loan of VND 1,311 billion.
For social houses, HCMC has conducted field test, resolved difficulties, provided guidance and supported investment procedures for 8 projects of social houses or projects related to transferring to social housing or social housing funds; organizing talk on “Selecting apartments linked with package of VND 30,000 billion”; leasing 830 apartments, of which 323 apartments owned by the State, 507 apartments are off budget funds.
In term of accommodation for workers, HCMC has reviewed adjustments of loan regulations for families, individual to newly build or repair boarding house for workers. HCMC has conducted field tests and supported investors to carry out 7 projects of boarding houses; inaugurating accommodations for workers in Linh Trung II Export Processing Zone.
As assessed by HCMC, real estate market is now seeing clear signs of recovery, inventory level gets continuous decrease, number of transaction apartments increases with stable prices. Till now, HCMC has resolved 8,208 apartments out of an apartment inventory of 14,490 units at the end of 2012, mainly small sized units (under 70m2) with average selling price, finished projects and projects located in complete infrastructure areas.
