In 2015, HCMC will focus on developing industries that the city has competitive advantages on the basis of exploiting effectively high-qualified human resource; developing clean industries, saving energy, increasing productivity with highly added value, developing models of industry serving agriculture and rural areas.

HCMC continues to strengthen development of supporting industries focusing on 4 key sectors (mechanical, electronics; information technology, pharmaceutical chemical; rubber; refined food); strengthening transfer of industrial economic structure in the direction of enhancing quality, efficiency and competitiveness, reducing rate of mining industry, increasing rate of processing industry, creating products with high added value, developing manufacturing industries, raising rate of product localization of fabricated products; limiting investment in intensive-labor processing industries, limiting preliminary process of products or exploitation of natural resources with low added value; increasing index of industrial production to 7% compared to 2014.
In 2015, HCMC will construct and implement plans of encouraging enterprises to make use of resources, technology, using local made material, machinery, equipment, reducing import; building a database and providing information of products of supporting industry for local enterprises; providing support policies and mechanisms of infrastructure, finance; carrying out support solutions for local enterprises to renew technology, developing human resource, production organizing and quality management, etc; ensuring demands of supply of hi-tech investors; contacting and removing difficulties for enterprises such as capital, land and new technology, investing in depth to enhance productivity of industries.
Development of information technology under the direction of the Resolution No 36-NQ/TQ dated July 1, 2014 of Political Bureau, HCMC will concentrate on carrying out synchronously projects, sub-programs under the Program to develop an integrated circuit industry of HCMC; promoting and seeking markets for electronic products using chips produced by Vietnam; constructing Quang Trung software Park No. 2, linking with localities to build a chain of Quang Trung Software Parks; building brand names of IT products and services; completing planning on IT sector and planning on passive telecommunications infrastructure till 2025.
HCMC will adjust planning of industrial parks, export processing zones and industrial clusters in the direction of green development, renewing equipment, increasing competitiveness; building infrastructure for specialized industrial parks and clusters to create favorable conditions for hi-tech application; completing infrastructure of Hi-tech Park, Phase 1 and preparing for construction of infrastructure, Phase 2 to attract investment in hi-tech industries.
In 2014, HCMC’s index of industrial production increased by 7% compared to the same period of last year. Size of industrial production increased proportion of processing industry, manufacturing, decreasing proportion of mining industry. 4 key industries increased by 8,3% compared to the same period, higher than common increase of the whole sector. |
