On April 21, HCMC held a meeting with FDI businesses. At the meeting, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan briefly introduced the project of construction of creative urban area in the East of the city including Districts 2, 9 and Thu Duc District. The project will form a creative eco-system with universities, financial center, and hi-tech area.
Speaking at the meeting, Executive Director of Amcham John Rockhold said it makes sense to turn HCMC into a smart city due to its role of special urban area. He added that US enterprises are willing to share their years of experience to HCMC in developing smart city.
For his part, Mr. Michele D'Erocole, President of Icham highly appreciated the project of construction of smart city and expressed his desire to support the city.
Regarding to this project, Mr. Nicolas Audier – President of Eurocham said it is a commitment of Eurocham to promote the image and prestige of Vietnam to friends in Europe and around the world, saying Eurocham will support the construction of smart city, make it a worth living city, and Eurocham is willing to share its experience, to help address problems faced by the city such as urbanization, traffic congestion, flooding, etc.
