According to the agreement, HCMC and Bangkok will create favorable conditions to facilitate the exchange of information and experience, focusing on promoting  co-operation in fields of strengthens and potential such as trade, investment, education and training, science and technology, culture and tourism, planning and development.

Both sides commits to maintain regular high-profile meetings to implement the agreement and to discuss solutions for difficulties, barriers emerging in the process of implementation. The agreement will take effect from signing date and is valid for 5 years and will be renewed for another 5 years.

At the same day, on the welcoming ceremony of a delegation of Bangkok city led by Mr. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Mr. Le Hoang Quan highly appreciated friendship and Co-operation relationship between Vietnam and Thailand, especially between HCMC and Bangkok. In 2014, export turnover of HCMC to Thailand reached US$ 300 million, import value stayed at US$ 1,5 billion, over 100,000 Thai tourists visited HCMC and 600,000 visitors of HCMC came to Thailand. At the moment, Thailand has 136 investment projects in HCMC valued at US$ 229.

As a thank to leaders of HCMC, Mr. Sukhumbhand Paribatra affirmed HCMC and Bangkok are the two large economic centers of Vietnam and Thailand, the agreement will further promote the relations between the two countries. He said that Bangkok is willing to co-operate with HCMC in all fields of mutual concern. Mr. Sukhumbhand Paribatra added that Thai companies are showing their interest in investment potential in HCMC in particular and in Vietnam in general. In the coming time, there are more and more Thai businesses coming to HCMC to seek investment opportunities.
