Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Le Thanh Hai and Chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan received Bac Kan delegation led by the province People’s Council Chairman Ha Van Khoat.
 
According to chairman Quan, the two localities have obtained a certain number of achievements in various fields including industry, agriculture, health and social welfares after seven years since the program was implemented.
 
Of these, Sahabak wood processing plant has been built at VND34 billion to provide jobs to over 300 local people. Its revenue is expected to reach VND56 billion this year.
 
Saigon Agriculture Incorporation presented the province 45 breeding cows worth VND700 million.
 
The two sides have worked together to exploit and open tours in Na Ri and Ngan Son Districts, especially eco tours in Ba Be National Park. Ba Be is the largest natural lake in Vietnam.
 
HCMC has also assisted the province with VND5.2 billion to function a medical center in Bac Kan Town. Na Ri District has been financed by the city to build health clinics in communes and a VND4 billion traditional culture house.
 
Mr. Hai affirmed that HCMC always pay heed to the cooperation program as well as its effectiveness and encourage city-based domestic and foreign companies to invest in Bac Kan.
 
The program will focus on eight main contents in the next phase 2014-2020. They include stepping up propaganda and advertisement to develop tourism in Bac Kan, and calling on domestic and foreign investors to attend in projects in the province under BT (Build-Transfer), BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) and joint venture forms.
 
The program will facilitate consumption of Ban Kan farm produce in the city and mobilize HCMC businesses to invest in mining, agricultural and forestry processing industries in the province.
