On May 12, Standing Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem received Mr. Louis Taylor, Chief Executive of UK Export Finance (UKEF) on a working visit to Vietnam.
At the reception, Mr. Le Thanh Liem thanked UKEF for its support to urban transport development projects in HCMC, suggesting UKEF continues studying financial support mechanisms for these projects. Mr. Liem also called for UK experienced businesses to invest in these projects in HCMC. He also suggested that UKEF to encourage UK businesses to invest in fields of health and education in HCMC.
Mr. Liem highly appreciated Mr. Louis Taylor’s long working experience in Vietnam, expressing his confidence that as Chief Executive of UKEF, Mr. Louis Taylor will play the role of linking bridge to further promote bilateral cooperation between UK and Vietnam, including HCMC.
For his part, Mr. Louis Taylor said Vietnam, including HCMC, in the coming time, will make progress in economic development, the city should pay a special attention to financial resources as an important factor for construction of urban transport projects. UKEF will consider financial support packages for the city to build urban transport and health projects and smart city.
