At the reception, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong affirmed the well-developed relation between Vietnam and the UK is a solid foundation for both sides to promote cooperation relations, including with HCMC.

Mr. Phong said the city is carrying out the project of building HCMC into a smart city to better serve local people and businesses, to create a better living environment with better living quality, he expressed his hope that the UK will share its experience with HCMC in this field and more and more UK businesses will come and invest in field of traffic infrastructure in HCMC.

For his part, Mr. Liam Fox affirmed that the UK always considers Vietnam an important and potential trade partner; he also expressed his hope to further promote cooperation relations in many fields with Vietnam.
