On April 4, Party Committee - People’s Council - People’s Committee – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC and Tien Giang coordinated to organize a sum up conference on socio-economic cooperation in 2009-2016 and cooperation orientations in 2017-2020.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated the signing of cooperation deal between HCMC and Tien Giang to create a solid foundation for effective cooperation relation between both localities. In the last 7 years, (2009-2016), HCMC has invested 44 projects in Tien Giang worth VND 12, 000 billion. He emphasized that HCMC will do its best to further strengthen cooperation relation between both localities as well as to promote strengths in agriculture, processing industry, tourism, etc. to improve living standard for local people.
The signing of cooperation deal in the period of 2017-2020 is a new drive for both localities to promote mutual development, creating a solid foundation for connecting HCMC and Tien Giang with other Southern provinces. HCMC is now calling for investment in 9 service sectors. “HCMC always creates the most favorable conditions for investors in Tien Giang to do business in the city and vice versa to uphold advantages of agriculture, processing industry, tourism of Tien Giang”, said Mr. Phong.
