(HCM CityWeb) – On July 18, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mrs. Josephine Teo, Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport, The Republic of Singapore.

At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong highly valued the well-developed relation between Vietnam and Singapore in many fields. Two way trade between both countries in 2016 reached US$ 9, 3 billion, Singapore is now one of the biggest trade partners of Vietnam.

With the role of economic driving force, Mr. Phong said HCMC is always accompanying and creating favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including Singaporean ones, to investing in the city, considering the success of enterprises as its own one.

For her part, Mrs. Josephine Teo said Vietnam-Singapore relation has been well developed. Many Singaporean enterprises are very successful in HCMC thanks to the support from State owned agencies.

In term of cooperation with HCMC, Mrs. Josephine Teo highly valued the strong development of HCMC, especially in term of Metro lines, high-rise buildings alongside Sai Gon River.

Mrs. Josephine Teo emphasized that Singapore will be ready for sharing and exchanging experience with HCMC, saying there will be more Singaporean enterprises coming to invest in HCMC particular and in Vietnam in general in the coming time.
